Complimenting our Data Center Services, Gig Avenue has industry leading expertise in technology sourcing and procurement learned at the leading technology consumers (eBay, Facebook, Salesforce.com, Twitter, AOL, VMware, Yammer, Mevio,...). Whether we’re hired for a simple asset count or a full blown supply chain and integration project, Gig Avenue takes a collaborative project management approach to achieve maximum value for our clients.
- Sourcing and Supply Chain Management: Whether you want simple benchmarking or full blown category sourcing, we can help ensure best terms and pricing for a lower TCO. We offer a range of services from simple procurement using your existing vendors to RFP’s aimed at finding the best vendor for your unique business and technology requirements. Unlike others, we don’t leave you at the altar, but will continue to ensure a successful vendor relationship through our quarterly or bi-annual reviews.
- Financing and Lease Management: Many clients overlook the fact that financing (i.e., leasing) can double your TCO if not executed and managed properly. Even worse, we often see very large and sophisticated organizations spend more than 2x of their anticipated cost per asset over the life of the lease. We can help plan, select and negotiate your financing arrangements to guard against unexpected issues during and after the lease. We can also minimize end of term issues by assisting with the tech refresh planning and execution and also by tracking your leases.
- Support Contract Negotiation and Management: Because technology support contracts typically result in nearly half of the overall TCO for an asset (generally, 10-15% per year of purchase price), we like to bring special attention to this expense. Support is a high-margin area for your resellers and OEM’s and an area where we can help reduce your TCO drastically. Whether it’s a simple negotiation of support renewals or implementation of alternative methods of support that do not void any OEM warranties, we can reduce your TCO in this area. In late 2011, we were able to save one customer more than 3x their network equipment spend just by re-negotiating their support! You should also know that support terms need to be managed closely with lease terms to make sure there are no payments for assets that are not being used.
